Types of Dental ImplantsEndosteal dental implants are usually secured by placing them in the jaw bone of the patient. They are placed there using titanium posts. They are also the most common type of implant and most successful for most patients.There are also subperiosteal dental implants that can be used in the mouth. These are placed under the gums in the mouth, but they are not placed into the jawbone. They sit on or above it instead. These are used for those that may not have enough jawbone to screw the implants into place with. The type of implant you get depends on many factors.
