Exparel Non-Opioid Pain Management Glendale, AZ
Exparel Non-Opioid Pain Management in Glendale provided by Dr. Michael Allard
at Arrowhead Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
At Arrowhead Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, we offer a safe and effective alternative to prescription narcotics that reduces or even eliminates your pain following a surgical procedure. The medication is called Exparel, and it is slowly revolutionizing pain management. The use of Exparel during your oral surgery can help you avoid the potentially harmful side effects of narcotics, mainly opioids.
Changing The Face of Post-Surgical Recovery
Post-surgical pain is a common consequence of Oral Surgery and can interfere with recovery, as well as with activities of daily living, for several days after surgery. The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) recently released some prescribing recommendations that urge the use of non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory medications as a first-line therapy for managing patients acute and post-operative pain. When the amount of discomfort requires the use of Opioids, safe prescription practices should be used.
